First of all, if the system did not need to be changed, why did the world witness certain personalities on this planet such as Jesus Christ and Buddha? If the system was that perfect, to me, there would have been no use to have people come down to convey to us certain messages that they believe are key. For Christians, Jesus, the Son of God came down to convey very specific messages. So let us focus on him for the purpose of the article.
What can we learn from Jesus? A lot, but for the sake of time and the article’s purpose, we can talk about 3 key points that he established while he was on earth.
· To love thy neighbor as ourselves
· To feed the poor or donate your possessions to the poor by selling them
· The 10 commandments: Thou shall not kill
Are people doing the above? So, if Jesus Christ had to come down to this planet to teach these to us, then it makes sense for us to actually start implementing his teachings. After all, did he preach a message of love or of hate, rape and wars?
Let us expand on the teachings above to clarify what his message meant. First: To love thy neighbor as thyself. That message is self explanatory. To love someone else as you means to see them one and equal to you and love them regardless of whatever or whoever they are. In this world full of competition, jealousy and individual differences promoted by different ethnicities, religions and races, it has become difficult to see someone else as us. In an equal money system, everyone will be equal and therefore everyone will be treated equally.
Second: To sell your possessions and donate to the poor. Well, another self explanatory parable. Obviously, Jesus did not believe that poverty should be seen as something we should just sit around and accept. Therefore, he is telling us to give to the poor. In an equal money system, money will be provided to you because you are an expression of life and you need to live in dignity. Dignity on earth means to live with a roof on top of your head and adequate food and clothing to sustain you.
Third: Thou shall not kill. Well, I am guessing that he meant that wars and criminal activity should not prevail, would you agree? Humans seem to want to promote the quest for more power, money and control. We need to kill so and so in order to snatch their resources from them so that we can satisfy ourselves. We need to invade countries so that we can control the oil and mines. We need to kill those people so that we can establish our religion as the only true religion of this planet because apparently God who is so kind has created all these religions so that we can love one another! Well, obviously God is so loving and great and he therefore promoted the idea of several religions which has lead to our destruction through wars because God was so smart and failed to realize that several religions would only bring about peace! Isn’t that interesting? How can a loving God who is smart and almighty promote rape, wars, child molestation and starvation on this planet? And if that is what he really intended, then why bother sending people like Jesus and Buddha to preach on love and compassion?!
Perhaps, God did not create such a system. We did! We did through our minds and belief systems and since a lot of us believe that we are the creators (which we are) then it is us who have created a world filled with wars, rapes, murders, poverty and starvation. And why are we not doing anything about it, if we believe that we can create a better world?
Now, let’s talk about nature and survival of the fittest and the consequences of believing that nature is what is best intended so let’s just leave the current system the way it is. (Taken from Steve Irwin’s article on ‘The expression of Nature’)
Dominance/Quest for power
Let us use an example of animal common sense: When animals become sickly do you see them putting the animal on life support or feed it tablets to prolong the suffering? No, yet somehow man has concluded that like in nature man must fight to survive and show ‘God’ how much we appreciate this ‘natural’ strength by allowing ourselves to confuse emotional attachments to strength. We don’t utilize the common sense of the animal kingdom but rather look at how we are able to protect and fight for what is ‘ours’. By doing that we have created a system that promotes having to struggle or fight to conquer something as opposed to just using common sense and seeing what is best for all and doing accordingly. We all need the same things such as money, so why fight for that instead of just all having the basic requirements provided?
Promotion of gender inequality leading to women as being inferior
In nature ‘strength’ is also seen as male versus male, therefore in human society the males are seen as ‘stronger’ just because they have a stronger physique . In nature the females carry the young and the males ‘protect’. Humans have interpreted this method as the female must shut up and be a mother and the males go about their business dominating the world. That is why we have so much injustice and gender inequality, which has not lead to something positive. Why should females be suppressed? How would you feel if you were suppressed?
Accepting world atrocities
Humans have turned a blind eye to what is happening in this world because as in nature ‘it just happens’. We hear about rape and murder and we have decided within ourselves that even though ‘tragic’ – these events never quite deem it necessary enough for us to do whatever it takes to state: ‘till here and no further’. What if it was you who was raped, murdered and so on? Would you still pay no attention to that? So when God via Jesus Chris came down to tell us to Love thy Neighbor as Thyself, shouldn’t we out of love for those that are being raped and murdered do something about it? Humans see animals as less than and easily changed or manipulated to fit our needs. Since when did Mother Nature tell us that animals and plants are weaker than human beings? As far as I recall, I don’t remember reading anything about it except in religious books which were written by human beings. In society we treat each other the same way. We condemn, eliminate and control those seen as weaker and there to serve the rest of humanity (the elite). Therefore, by justifying that nature serves as a platform where there are the weak and the strong, we have created a system of enslavement where we are forced to go to work to obtain money to survive. Also we have promoted social classes where there are the rich, the middle class and the poor class and have created divisions amongst ourselves leading to social issues.
Being able to survive because the world is not a safe place
In nature you have to show the child discipline or else it will not survive’. Therefore humans validate ‘getting eaten by another animal’ – the cause for discipline in the world – preparing our children to never ‘get attacked and killed out there in the jungle’. This has contributed to humans being powerful or dominant and if danger arrives just attack. Therefore, violence via wars is justified due to nature and not seen as something that we should not accept on this earth.
Having explored the above points, one can ask oneself whether nature is best intended or not. And if it is not best intended, then perhaps it is time to get out of our shell and stand up and do what needs to be done to cure this world. With an equal money system in place, there will be no inequalities and since everyone will have the basics available to them, things such as poverty and starvation will cease to exist. The world will move to an upward shift where people will live with dignity and express themselves as life as opposed to doing things because of the need for money, power and control. Wouldn’t that be heaven on earth?
